How We Make What We Make
Every 25HOURS piece begins with S925 sterling silver — an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper, valued for its balance of workability, strength, and natural luster. It is the standard used by fine silversmiths worldwide, and our primary material.
From there, every design decision is made with one question in mind: will this hold up on a real day?
Surface & Finish
Texture is where character lives. Each surface treatment changes how light interacts with the silver — and how the piece feels against skin.
Brushed / Satin
Fine linear grain that diffuses light into a quiet, matte glow. Less flashy, more refined.
Hammered
Irregular planes created by hand-striking, scattering light in unpredictable directions. Each piece is slightly different.
Faceted / Diamond-Cut
Precision-cut surfaces that produce crisp, prismatic reflections — like tiny mirrors catching movement.
Sandblasted / Frosted
A soft, muted texture with a velvety feel. Absorbs light instead of reflecting it.
We also use openwork (cutout patterns), wire-drawing, and granular texturing depending on the design — always chosen for how they wear, not just how they photograph.
Precious Metal Plating
Every plated piece in our collection uses real precious metals — 18-karat gold or rhodium — applied in layers thick enough to resist everyday friction, water exposure, and the chemical shifts that happen with skin contact over time.
This is not cosmetic coating. Rhodium, a platinum-group metal, adds a bright white finish that also functions as a barrier against tarnish and oxidation. 18K gold plating brings warm tone with the durability of a genuine gold surface.
Both plating types are applied at a thickness that exceeds standard fashion jewelry — because a plating that wears through in weeks defeats the purpose of choosing sterling silver in the first place.
Built for Every Day
Every piece is designed for continuous wear — commuting, working, sleeping, showering. We test for weight distribution, clasp security, and edge smoothness before production, because jewelry that needs to be taken off every night is jewelry that stays in a drawer.
All 25HOURS jewelry is designed for sensitive skin. S925 sterling silver is widely regarded as hypoallergenic, and our precious metal plating layers add a further barrier between the metal and your skin.
What We Don't Do
We specify nickel-free materials and require plating thickness that exceeds standard fashion jewelry. We don't apply thin flash-plating that looks good for a photo but fades within weeks. We don't release seasonal collections designed to be replaced.
