Materials — What Goes Into Every Piece
What Goes Into Every Piece
We use three materials across the entire collection — no exceptions, no compromises. Every piece is S925 sterling silver, finished with either rhodium or 18K gold plating.
S925 Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is the international standard for fine silver jewelry. The copper alloy provides the structural strength that pure silver lacks, while preserving its natural warmth and reflectivity. We source recycled sterling silver wherever possible.
Rhodium Plating
Rhodium is what gives white gold its signature brightness — and it does the same for silver. Beyond appearance, it forms a physical barrier against oxidation and sulfur contact, meaning rhodium-plated pieces resist tarnish far longer than bare sterling silver.
18K Gold Plating
Our gold-plated pieces use real 18K gold — not gold-colored paint or thin flash-plating. The result is a warm, genuine gold tone that wears naturally and ages gracefully. The sterling silver base underneath means even as plating evolves with wear, the jewelry remains structurally sound and skin-safe.
What We Look For — and What We Avoid
Jewelry manufacturing involves many steps, and we work closely with our production partners to maintain clear material standards. Here is what guides our sourcing decisions:
Nickel-Free Standard
We specify nickel-free materials in all our production orders. Nickel is a common allergen that can cause contact dermatitis.
S925 as the Base
Sterling silver (92.5% Ag + 7.5% Cu) is our standard base metal. Some structural techniques may use copper-based alloys internally, compensated by plating to ensure skin safety and finish quality.
Thick Plating, Not Flash
We require plating thickness that exceeds standard fashion jewelry. Ultra-thin flash plating that fades within days is not acceptable to our standards.
No Lead or Cadmium
These toxic metals, sometimes found in low-cost costume jewelry, are explicitly excluded from our material specifications.
