S925 sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. It is the international standard for fine silver jewelry — strong enough for daily wear while retaining the luster and workability of pure silver. All 25HOURS pieces are made from S925.

Yes. S925 sterling silver is widely regarded as hypoallergenic, and all our plated pieces use rhodium or 18K gold — both biocompatible precious metals. We specify nickel-free materials and use precious metal plating on all skin-contact surfaces. Our jewelry is designed for sensitive skin and everyday wear.

All plating will eventually show wear with heavy daily use — this is true of any plated jewelry. However, our rhodium and 18K gold plating is applied at a thickness that significantly exceeds standard fashion jewelry, so it holds up much longer. If you notice fading after extended wear, the sterling silver underneath is still fully intact and safe to wear.

Yes, 25HOURS jewelry is designed for continuous wear including showering. Sterling silver handles water well. We recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to chlorinated pools, hot springs, or saltwater, as these can accelerate tarnish. After swimming, rinse with fresh water and pat dry.

Over time, uncoated sterling silver can develop a patina due to reaction with sulfur compounds in the air. Rhodium-plated pieces are more resistant to this. Regular wear actually helps prevent tarnish (your skin's natural oils keep the surface active). If tarnish does appear, a gentle polish with the included silver cloth restores the finish. Store pieces in the magnetic box or dust pouch included with your order, ideally in a cool, dry place. Keeping jewelry in an enclosed space slows oxidation. Avoid storing multiple pieces loose together, as they can scratch each other.
